New Level - New Devil!

This is a common saying among Christians: "New Level - New Devil!" This describes the idea that as we grow in our faith and get deeper into our relationship with God, we come up against new obstacles to overcome. It seems that there is always some new challenge. And it's true, we do experience adversity and as we work through it we grow stronger and become more mature in our faith.

You may not have any idea about what I'm talking about, don't worry, this isn't a "religious article".

Over the last couple of weeks I have been doing a lot of networking. I have been trailing my way around the internet from forum board to mailing list, meeting new people and learning new things. Lots of new things!

I have been challenged by what I'm learning. Challenged to step up the next level in internet marking strategies. It's a new level and it definitely has a "new devil" to overcome!

New Level
Gone are the days of just submiting your website URL to free submission services. It's been fun but honestly, all I have ever gotten out of it is a bunch of SPAM mail. Gone are the days of just exchanged links willy nilly with everyone you know, now you have to be choosey about who you link up with.

New Devil
The search engines have gotten so darn smart! And aren't we glad they are? I know that when I search for something online, I want to get somewhere useful. And when it comes to reaching potential customers, I don't care how many "hits" I get from search engines, I care about how many customers I get! I want to reach the search engine users who are truly interested in what I have to offer them.

So, if I am going to get anywhere, I have to step up and tackle "Search Engine Optimization".

I see many WAHMs on the forums poo poo the idea of SEO. They just want to "be creative" and wait for people to find them. It won't do you any good to stick your head in the sand on this subject. Either you will learn to optimize your site or you will be left in the dust of your competitors who do.

I can certainly understand that SEO can be intimidating and frustrating to a WAHM who really just wants to focus on her products. So what she needs to do is find an SEO expert and hire them to do the work for them.

This can be expensive and for some new WAHMs prohibitively so. But it must be made a priority or your website will never reach the potential customers that you want it to. I suggest that you budget for SEO as soon as possible - before you spend money on any advertising or other website improvements.
