Success In Search Engines By Shannan Hearne-Fortner There are many useful, and acceptable ways to create greater success with your search engine rankings. The Wizard of Success Promotions would like to show you a few. Use multiple title tags. Ie: <title1>title</title1> <title2>title</title2/ etc. Use as many keywords as possible, especially in the 2nd through whatever titles. Aim for the highest keyword density possible especially in the first couple of paragraphs, without making your sentences sound funny. Avoid as many stop words as possible (the, homepage, www, of, that, is, and, etc.) I don't recommend using invisible text (the exact same color as the background) but semi-visible text one or two characters off from the background but still not visible to the eye is okay. I would put it towards the bottom of the page, however. Whenever you can, add an "s" to any of your keywords so your site will show up in more searches. For example, if I search for cat I'll find sites with both cat and cats in the search terms. But if I search for cats, only sites with the plural would show up. Remember that there are semi-relevant times you would like for your site to come up. Perhaps someone is simply looking for photo albums. You want to come up because this person might never have thought of doing scrapbooking with their pictures. Are you familiar with comment lines? <!your comment here> People use these to make notes in the code for their eyes only. But the search engines see this, too. So you can use lots of comment lines and make sure they contain relevant keywords to help your keyword density. A good way to utilize this is with comments for graphics and tables. You can also use ALT tags in your image parts of your code for more keywords. Make sure every page has a link to every other page. Or at least most every other page. This will increase both link popularity and ensure that every page gets spidered and indexed by the search engines. Don't forget to include mispellings of your keywords in your meta tags. And if you are using pay per click engines, why not bid on mispelled versions of your chosen words. They are much cheaper and can drive a lot of traffic to your website. You can also make sure you use heavy keywording in your <H1> and other headline tags. This is one more way to get both density and frequency for your keywords. Avoid frames on pages whenever possible. Only really, really large sites truly need frames. Otherwise, you are keeping some of the search engines and all older browsers from viewing your site correctly. So you might wonder what you cannot do to increase your search engine rankings. Never try to incorporate meta tags that do not have relevancy to your site's content. You will be banned from many search engines and anger people that come to your site when it doesn't really contain the information they are looking for. Avoid repeating the same keyword dozens and dozens of times in a row. This is considered spamming the search engines. In either text or meta tags. Do not create excessive doorway pages. Search engines reject multiple submissions that appear the same. ______________________________________________________________ Shannan Hearne is the President and Wizard of Success Promotions Marketing Your e-Business Better through creative marketing and knowledge. ______________________________________________________________ A Note From WebPreneurship.com Editorial Staff: Shannan has won numerous awards through her Success Promotions Web site, and has helped a tremendous number of individuals both through her current businesses and in her former roles as a recruiter.
